EPSO AD5 Test Date 2026: Part 1 Takes Place 9–13 November (Official)

EPSO has confirmed it: the AD5 reasoning tests take place in the week of 9 to 13 November 2026. Invitations arrive on 19 October. Here is what it means and how to use the weeks left.

It is official. On 13 October 2026, EPSO announced that the first part of the AD5 Graduates testing (EPSO/AD/427/26) will take place during the week of 9 to 13 November 2026. After months of "planned for November", candidates finally have a date.

The key dates, from EPSO's announcement

What EPSO has (and has not) said

    • One testing week for Part 1: 9 to 13 November. You will sit your test on one day within that week.
    • The invitation letter (19 October) confirms the test week and gives instructions. It does not include your individual date and time.
    • Your exact date and time will be visible once you log in to the TAO platform, where you also complete the pre-requisite test between 20 October and 6 November.
    • Part 2 information will come "at a later stage". No dates have been announced.

Do not trust anyone who claims to know your exact day before you see it on TAO: EPSO has not published individual slots.

    What Part 1 contains

Part 1 is taken in your language 1:

    • Verbal reasoning: 20 questions in 35 minutes. Pass mark 10/20.
    • Numerical reasoning: 10 questions in 20 minutes.
    • Abstract reasoning: 10 questions in 10 minutes.
    • Numerical and abstract are assessed together: you need at least 10/20 combined.

That is 40 questions in 65 minutes. The abstract test, with one minute per question, is where most candidates run out of time.

How many weeks do you have left?

From mid-October, you have about three and a half weeks. That is enough to make a real difference on reasoning tests, because speed improves quickly with timed practice. A simple plan:

    1. This week: take a timed diagnostic and identify your weakest test.
    2. Week of 19 October: read your invitation, check your SCP login, then 30 minutes of timed practice per day on your weakest area.
    3. Week of 26 October: complete the TAO pre-requisite test early (do not wait for 6 November). Keep practising daily and do your first full Part 1 simulation (40 questions, 65 minutes).
    4. Week of 2 November: one or two more full simulations, review every mistake, and stop learning new methods.
    5. Test week: light practice only, sleep well, prepare your room and documents the day before.
