EPSO AD5 Sample Questions 2026: Verbal, Numerical and Abstract
Real EPSO AD5 2026 sample questions (verbal, numerical, abstract) with explanations, plus a free timed practice test.
Seeing concrete examples is the fastest way to understand what's waiting in Part 1 of the EPSO AD5 competition (in November). Here's one example of each reasoning type, with the logic to solve it.
Example — Verbal reasoning
Based on the text: "The regulation enters into force only after publication in the Official Journal." Statement: "An unpublished regulation is not in force." → True. The logic: answer only from the text, no outside knowledge.
Example — Numerical reasoning
A project costs €80,000 in 2025 and rises 15% in 2026. What does it cost in 2026? → 80,000 × 1.15 = €92,000. The logic: recognise "percentage increase" and set up the calculation in seconds.
Example — Abstract reasoning
A series of figures: a dot rotates 90° clockwise each step and one side is added. Which figure comes next? → apply both rules together (rotation + addition). The logic: isolate one rule at a time, then combine them.
How to use examples
Examples help you understand the format, but points are won by timed practice. Reading isn't enough — you have to automate the pace (about 1 minute per question).

The best way to measure yourself is a real, timed test. Take the free EPSO AD5 test with instant scoring, and to train on 500 explained questions there's full access.
